Cannondale's Claymore 1 has set a new standard for all-mountain bikes. It pairs a tough aluminum frame with Fox's innovative DYAD shock that lets you choose between 180mm or 110mm of travel so you can pedal new terrain and descend like a World Cup racer, all with the flick of a switch. Add a 180/140mm adjustable-travel Fox Talas fork, Mavic Crossmax wheels and surefooted Schwalbe tires to the mix, and the steepest, roughest trails turn to easy cruisers. You also get a wide-range SRAM/Shimano 20-speed drivetrain for pedaling versatility, powerful Avid X0 discs with 8/7-inch rotors, a low-rise Syntace carbon bar and RockShox's adjustable-height Reverb post.
Cannondale/Fox's DYAD allows you to virtually switch bikes at the top of the hill. Just flip the switch to choose between 110mm of travel for proficient pedaling or 180mm of travel for descending. Switching between the two modes also changes the bike's geometry from steep and forward for efficent climbing to low and stable for masterful descending.
