Handmade in Germany, Continental's Grand Prix Triathlon is bred for speed. Its tightly-woven design and slick tread pattern are optimized for consistent, high speeds. Plus, for a tire designed to handle the speeds of Ironman races, the Grand Prix Tri boasts excellent puncture resistance, too, thanks to its Vectran polymer under the tread.

Vectran is a liquid-crystal polymer woven into the tire (shown here on the Grand Prix 4000) as armor against cuts, abrasions and impacts. It's also incredibly flexible to conform to the road's contours enhancing traction and feel. Finally, Vectran resists fatigue caused by repeated flexing, which lengthens the tire's life.
